These twin coil meters operate in a manner that does non rely on the bound couple or voltage for accuracy.   Terminal i is + supply, Terminals 3 and iv are unremarkably connected to the ends of a 5k ohm sensing potentiometer whose wiper is connected to the - supply.   The potentiometer will then control the reading from zero to total scale.  Tin can also operate with a single variable resistor and a fixed trimmer in the other arm.  The system operates  as low equally 12 volts.
