This is a not bad pressing, and I hold with most reviewers that this is probably 1 of the all-time new reissues yous will be able to purchase. But it's not perfect. While the bottom end has the perfect amount of punch, and every note of Lindsay Buckingham's plucky guitar is crystal clear, I was a little disappointed with the level of the lead vocals by and large (particularly Stevie'due south on Golden Grit Adult female), which could probably be a picayune more than front and center. However, one should not be deterred from buying this release if y'all want a clean, quiet mastering that will please the ear.
Heads up, I just learned about a Pallas copy that states "Fabricated in Canada" on the back of the cover. So I guess this means that this pressing is made in US, Germany, and Canada? Kind of seems like there should exist an entry made for each country of origin, no?
I have owned a few copies of this anthology and this is, without a incertitude, the all-time pressing. The other versions sound muffled; but here, you tin really hear the separation of the instruments and vocals. This is definitely the one to get.
I have this re-create of the album. It sounds immaculate, but I noticed that the opening of "Gold Grit Adult female" begins with a count-off before the song begins. Is that supposed to be in that location? Did I get a misprint? Are there other pressings of this album that take this? What's the deal?
Dreams is unbelievably crystal clear on this album, i was honestly shocked. Nonetheless, whatever vinyl this was made out of man… this is the most staticky I've always had a record
well once once more i am left dumbfounded, i went out and bought the pressed at pallas version with SH KPG in the deadwax, and to exist honest it is not the best pressing of rumours that i own,, yes its better than the nautilus , and better than my JPN printing from the 70sand better than a 70s Us press that i own, but i have a German and a United states pressing that smokes it, i too went out and got the 45rpm cut and information technology basically sounds the same only cut at 45rpm, i fifty-fifty played information technology on multiply turntables with different carts i got the same result,,,, its cracking by any means but it is not the all-time cut of rumours by any means.....
The sound is admittedly amazing on this pressing as others have said.
Just ane thing I dont like is the quality of press on the embrace, and liner notes. It'south quite poor resolution printing, like somebody took a polaroid photo of a jpeg file, and printed it out on a 300DPI inkjet, and so re-scanned it in. Honestly seems like a real shame given how much piece of work seems to accept been put into the mastering! I had an original 1977 AUS pressing - the embrace cardboard had a lovely textural design and the printing was crystal articulate, same with the liner notes. Just with my version the quality was horrendous - flat, muddied (and I am NO audiophile), so I replaced it with this.
Simply I suppose if you had to cull between the quality of record or the sleeve...
Later on attempting to locate a near mint original copy of this and receiving multiple scratched and bad sounding copies, I settled on this and couldn't be happier. Similar sounding to my 1977 LA pressing, nothing too distinguishable. 45 version is probably louder and slightly crisper, just I volition happily settle on this 33 version as a replacement for any beat old copy. I'll also add that a lot of stores like All-time Buy even so have this in stock for around $23.
